Outside School Hours Care Program

The Glen Katherine Primary School Outside School Hours Care Program (OSHC) provides a quality child care service to parents who are working, studying, training to re-enter the workforce or actively looking for work. We provide a safe, secure, inviting and challenging environment for children from Prep to grade 6. Children are cared for by qualified, experienced and caring staff and are supervised at all times.

The centre operates for before care, after care and vacation care. We open at 7am for before care and close at 6.30pm for after care. During vacation care our operating hours are 7.30am to 6.30pm. We also operate for full days on scheduled pupil free days (curriculum days). Currently we are licenced for 150 places per session.

Costs to parents vary as each family is entitled to government funded Childcare Subsidy (CCS). A yearly registration fee also applies.

A nutritious breakfast is provided during before care, including cereals, toast, muffins and fruit. Children are also provided with afternoon tea at after care, which ranges from sandwiches to noodles and soup. A fresh fruit platter is then offered to the children.

A wide variety of activities and games are always available. Each day there is a planned craft or cooking activity which the children can choose to participate in.

Glen Katherine Primary School OSHC Program is an extremely well organised program with staff who genuinely care for the children’s well being and happiness. The program is run by a School Council committee of management and is a school owned and staffed program. The centre is fully accredited and staff are constantly improving their practices. Parents can feel confident they are leaving their children in competent hands.
