What is the PFA?
The Parents & Friends Association (PFA) at Glen Katherine Primary School is a group dedicated to bringing the school community together and providing opportunities for families to get to know one each other. We do this through a series of events and fundraising activities throughout the year.
The PFA looks forward coordinating or assisting at the following events in 2019:
- Prep family welcome events
- GK Stands Together – Bullying No Way! Family Fun Night
- Entertainment Book Sales
- Mother’s Day Stall
- Parents’ Trivia Night
- Chocolate drive
- Father’s Day Stall
- Kids’ Curriculum Day Movie Outing
- 5c Challenge
- Mums’ Movie Night
- Dads’ Barefoot Bowls
- Christmas Carol Concert BBQ
The 2020 Committee will be proud to once again put on the amazing GK Fete in October 2020.
The PFA also runs the Second Hand Uniform Shop (open 8.30am – 9.00am) every Friday morning in term time and coordinates the School Banking Program and the Grade Communicator Program.
General Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 7.00pm in the staff room. Once a term in school hours information sessions are held the fourth Friday each term at 8.45am in the library for anyone keen to get involved but unable to attend evening meetings.
The Annual General Meeting for the PFA is held annually in October. The committee is comprised of elected positions which can be found here.
Regular updates on PFA activities and ways to get involved are available in the Link Letter (fortnightly newsletter) and on the informal school community Facebook page.
We welcome family participation in any way possible – by attending a meeting, volunteering or even just attending our events and joining in the fun!
